Meet the very sweet Miss Ebony, who initially eyed me with some suspicion, only to warm to me and offer up the most adorable smiles…juuuust not when I had the camera in front of her face!   She did very well, considering she’s nearly 3 months old, and was good natured throughout the session for us to capture some beautiful shiny eyed shots

If you haven’t been in to Mini Marche yet, make sure you head on down when you are next in Fremantle.  Located at 47 Market Street it will quickly become your one stop shop for all things baby and child related.  But Mini Marche is not just your average kids clothing and toy store.  It is absolutely brimming with quality designer clothes, boots, umbrellas, jackets…all adorable items sourced from around the country, individual, stylish and practical.  As for the toys, imagine all of your favourite items in one place!  Beautiful handcrafted wooden toys sit alongside colourful dolls houses, books, jewellery  and my personal fave…the wheelie bug.  Eli had so many hours of fun hooning up and down the hallways on his wheelie bug ‘buzzy bee’….it was easily our most well loved, and long lasting toy.

Perhaps what I love most about Mini Marche is knowing I can pop in there and ALWAYS find something unusual and special for a gift.  And while I was there the other day taking these images, I heard a customer remark that exact same thing.  You can’t go past satisfied customers for a glowing recommendation

My heart melted when I met little Ollie.  He came in the door with his lovely mum, full of a cold and having been sick on the way down.  He really didn’t look too well, but just smiled and grinned that cheeky grin at me.  At one point I knelt down and asked him if he was alright and he walked right up to me and put his arms around my neck and hugged me!  Not shy that’s for sure.  He was just so cute, smiling through his cold and laughing at his mum.  Below are a couple of my faves from the session:

Tiny Eleanor is just 16 days old, and the most beautiful baby.  She was so good during her photo shoot, either placidly awake, or sleeping soundly, no tears, no fuss.  It’s a rarity, but refreshing when it happens.

We’ve been working on her images all day as Dad is heading off overseas for a while and we want him to see the images before goes.  She’ll be one sorely missed little bub I’m sure.

Little miss Anika is a sticky beak!  I’d lay her in the beanbag and position her where I wanted her, and then I’d move, and she’d follow my every move.  It was impossible to get her not looking at the camera, unless she was asleep, as in these shots.

Not that I should be complaining about a baby loving the camera that’s for sure, I was just astounded at how alert and interested she was in the world around her.   6 weeks going on 6 years

Except they’re not really, trouble that is:)  Instead they are charming and polite, full of hugs for each other and their mum.  Just seven years old, they are the best of friends, and quite the photogenic pair also.

As I repeatedly told Harry’s Mum and Dad, I can’t take the credit for these character smiling shots.  This is just Harry.  Or more to the point, Harry when his Dad is playing with him and amusing him with his best Harry faces and sounds.  His smile is infectious.  A truly adorable baby and a lucky little man to have the nicest family to amuse

After a couple of false starts including sick kids and inclement weather, we finally managed to meet up with Patrick and Ollie to capture some portraits. Ollie was all smiles from the start, but Patrick took a tiny bit of warming up, eventually taking the lead from his big brother and stopping to sniff the flowers and have some fun Thanks for your time Jane, enjoy your preview and I’ll see you in studio this week to select your images.

It’s always a tad challenging working with young siblings…the baby generally suffers from a little too much love and tears are often the outcome.  Not the case with Joel and Luke.   Luke adores his fun loving older brother, and judging from the kisses and hugs he receives, the feeling is entirely mutual.
